I am registered as an in-person delegate and the area I am in goes into lockdown due to government restrictions around COVID?
If your area is in lockdown (based on registered address) and you are not permitted to leave due to restrictions around COVID 19, providing the event is proceeding in person, your registration will be converted to a virtual registration.
Please note if you are no longer wanting to travel to the event and there are no restrictions in place to prevent you from travelling, your in-person registration can be converted to a virtual registration. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person who meets the criteria above without penalty.
As an alternative to cancellation, your registration, and additional items, such as workshops and social events may be transferred to another delegate without penalty.
*no refunds will be provided for any cancelled accommodation, airfares or other related expenses for your travel to the event, we suggest you book flexible travel and accommodation options.
What happens if the in-person event is unable to proceed due to government restrictions around COVID?
As the 2021 ASM will be a hybrid event, we can pivot the event to a complete virtual conference to be delivered on the same dates.
What if I am exposed to COVID-19 and placed in quarantine?
The safety of our delegates is of the utmost importance, therefore if you have been potentially exposed to COVID-19 and placed in quarantine, your registration will be converted to a virtual registration.
I have flu like symptoms, what should I do?
If you have flu/COVID like symptoms, please get tested and do not attend the event. Your registration will be converted to a virtual/on demand attendee. This policy will only come into effect 3 days or less prior to the event.
