Call for Abstracts

Submit Abstract

The RANZCR 2021 ASM invites the submission of abstracts on original work for consideration for a Scientific Paper, Educational Paper, Scientific Exhibit or Educational Exhibit in the clinical radiology and radiation oncology programs. We encourage abstracts that are above and beyond thought provoking, challenge our thinking and reflect the ASM theme ”Elysium: Diagnostics and Therapeutics (Now and the Future) with AI.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please ensure you have read the guidelines, themes and abstract prizes page and downloaded the correct abstract template.

Please note that reviewers may reallocate abstracts between the above categories.

Summary of Abstract Submission Instructions

Please read through the submission instructions listed below before preparing your abstract:

Step 1: Read the guidelines and polices for the submission of abstracts.

Step 2: Download Scientific Paper or Exhibit, Educational Paper or Exhibit template and insert/add your abstract text. Save as a .doc or .docx document to your computer. Abstracts must not exceed 400-word limit (this applies to the main body of the abstract only and excludes the abstract title, authors, affiliations and references.) Be sure to not list authors on the template document as this is a blind review.

Step 3: Write your abstract following the abstract template.

Step 4: Complete the Abstract Submission Form. It will be necessary to attach/upload the .doc or .docx copy of your abstract.

Invited Speakers – International and National Guest Faculty

Please note that all Invited Speakers are not restricted to the 400-word limit and are invited to submit full papers of their work. Please use the supplied template formatting guidelines and submit the abstract.

Wiley Best Exhibit Award – Radiology 

Clinical Radiology Exhibit Prize

Criteria:
Eligible candidates must be a member of the RANZCR College (excluding trainee members).

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:
Wiley has kindly donated a cash prize of $750.

Judging Process:
Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Organising Committee evaluate a winner for the “Best Exhibit Award for Radiology College Members (excluding trainee members)”.


I-MED Best Emergency Radiology Scientific Exhibit Prize

Clinical Radiology Exhibit Prize 

Criteria:
Eligible candidates must be a member of the RANZCR College.

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:

I-MED has kindly donated a valuable prize for the most outstanding contribution to the ASM Scientific Meeting and has submitted an exhibit in Emergency Radiology. The prize consists of $2500.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Clinical Radiology Research Committee evaluate a winner for the “Best Emergency Radiology Scientific Exhibit/ Oral Presentation Exhibit Prize” for Radiology College Members”.


Medical Wealth Advisory Rural & Regional Award – NEW IN 2021

Clinical Radiology Oral/ Exhibit Prize 

Criteria:
Eligible candidates must be a member of the RANZCR College.

Be based in, or have undertaken work in, a rural or regional area

    • In Australia this is classified as between “RA-2 – Inner regional” and “RA-5 – Very remote” according to the Australian Government’s remoteness classification
    • In New Zealand this is classified as outside the main centres (Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch)

The submitted abstract must relate to clinical radiology in rural or regional communities.

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:

Medical Wealth Advisory has kindly donated a valuable prize for the most outstanding contribution to Rural and Regional Communities. The prize consists of $2000.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Clinical Radiology Research Committee evaluate a winner for the “Medical Wealth Advisory Rural and Regional Award” for Radiology College Members.

Wiley Exhibit Award – Radiation Oncology

Radiation Oncology Exhibit Award 

Criteria:
Radiation Oncology College Member

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:

Chris Atkinson Award – Best Radiation Oncology Scientific Paper Presentation

Radiation Oncology Oral Presentation

Criteria:
Radiation Oncology College Member (excluding trainee members).

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:

The Chris Atkinson Award is a cash prize of $1000. The prize will be judged on originality, scientific merit and the quality of presentation.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representative determined by the Radiation Oncology Research Committee evaluate a winner for the “Best Radiation Oncology Scientific Paper Presentation by a College Member (excluding trainee members)”.


Elekta Award – the advances in the use of technology in Radiation Therapy

Radiation Oncology Oral Presentation 

Criteria:
Radiation Oncology College Member.

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize: 

Elekta Pty Ltd Australia has kindly agreed to provide the recipient with $2000 towards registration and travel expenses to attend either ASTRO or ESTRO in 2019. In addition Elekta Pty Ltd Australia will also present the recipient with an Award Trophy.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Radiation Oncology Research Committee evaluate a winner for the “Best Scientific Paper that shows advances in the use of technology in Radiation Therapy”.


Medical Wealth Advisory Rural & Regional Award – NEW IN 2021

Criteria:
